The pandemic has affected every industry, including the Space industry. According to Max Polyakov, some businesses might not make it after the pandemic. This might be the beginning.

A year before the pandemic, the space industry had grown by around 3 billion. This was predicted to go higher by 2040. However, many activities have either been forced to stop or slow down, since some employees work from home.

There are giant companies, who, despite all that is happening, will survive.

Space X

Founded by Elon Musk in 2000, Space X has its spaceport in South Texas, Falcon 9, satellite and rocket factories, Dragon cargo spacecraft, and Falcon Heavy launch vehicles. This makes it a leader of the private segment of the space market.

In 2019, Space X successfully conducted its first test of the passenger spacecraft. They also part of the Artemis program. This company is evolving, and with Musk’s idea of colonizing Mars, this company is set to change the industry.

Lockheed Martin

Having been in the logistics automation, aircraft building, shipbuilding, space development, and airport infrastructure since 1995, this company has a strong backbone in the industry.

The company receives many orders from various government entities, and its superb technical capabilities and automation has earned it a spot in Artemis.

Blue Origin

Owned by Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin created a triple spacecraft for vertical take-off and landing. In May 2019, it revealed a prototype of the Moon landing module.

This company has various projects and accomplishments, and NASA is also working with Blue Origin to help with the Artemis program that is set to proceed regardless of the pandemic.

Firefly Aerospace

This company, which was salvaged by Max Polyakov after facing bankruptcy in 2017, has come a long way. Over the past few years, Firefly Aerospace has achieved a lot. The company has opened an R & D center in Ukraine, developed launch improved vehicles by employing additive technologies, signed cooperation agreements with various industry players like Spaceflight, etc.

It has been selected to participate in the Artemis program, made its Alpha light completely operational, and is actively working on other massive projects. Max Polyakov is surely proud!

Aerojet Rocketdyne

Founded in 2013, due to Aerojet and Rocketdyne's merger, this company monopolizes the solid and liquid-propellant rocket engine market in the United States. Its track record also includes making several engines for various players.

Aerojet Rocketdyne has several other massive space projects, and in May 2019, NASA also selected this company to join the Artemis program.

These giants, regardless of quarantines, have a lot of work on their hands. The pandemic will retreat, and Space exploration will prosper.
