Going to the Moon: Max Polyakov and Firefly Aerospace on NASA’s Lunar Plan

In 1969, astronauts reached the moon for the 1st time. A program by NASA referred to as Apollo is what made it possible to get to the moon surface. In 1961, that project was adopted by America and it went on for a period of fifteen years.

Seventeen missions were undertaken through the program and astronauts got to the moon surface six times. While there, they were able to gather some soil which they brought with them back to earth.

At the moment, the US has plans to go to the moon through a program called Artemis. The objective of this round is to go past the moon to gather soil samples. NASA is doing this to get favorable human living in the moon region by the next five years. This will as well help in researching and creating a strong foundation for forming a moon economy.

The major objective of NASA is to find a place in the moon region which will become a launching area for going to Mars. Before, this undertaking was expected to end within 10 years however the president of the United States changed it to 5 years.

The plans of NASA

NASA’s project will happen in stages:

The first stage

This is where important things will be transported to the moon. Earlier on NASA had selected some good organizations which will move technological tools to the earth satellite. Firefly Aerospace which is managed by Max Polyakov was among those organizations. Firefly is ready to provide the space industry a vehicle called Alpha. In the coming year, Firefly also has plans to produce a conveyor missile.

The second stage

During this stage, the safety of the astronauts will be taken care of. A program known as Gateway is what will be used to ensure they will be safe during their travel. The gateway can even inform astronauts about the dangers they are likely to encounter when they travel and even during other future undertakings.

The third stage

This is the stage where the travelers will arrive at the moon surface and go back to the orbit area.

Firefly Aerospace is the only company that is taking part in this project. So far, Ukraine is the best when it comes to space projects. The country has the best technologies and since last year, the R&D facility of Firefly Aerospace has been operating there. Firefly has designed the components of missiles which will be launched sometime later. They have even come up with prototypes for their 1st satellite.

Besides that, for two years, Max Polyakov has been able to acquire permission for America air force projects to sign contracts with various organizations to offer launching services. Those are some of the things that made NASA believe in Firefly which is even expected to produce Alpha rocket before this year ends. There is also Gamma and Beta rockets which they are planning to launch later on.
